There is an old expression which says “behind every successful man, there was once a boy who decided to follow his dreams and passion” born and bred in the dusty streets of Pampierstad 31 years ago, Letlhogonolo Lucky Nche is a renowned arts Practi-tioner who recently won his first Dance Award, started as a dancer at the tender age of 9 years exposed him to the glitz and glamour of the industry, above all it taught to develop a thick skin with a thick skull, this father of two beautiful kids, explains that growing up he always wanted to secure a career as Social worker and due to financial constrains he found himself doing things that weren’t really in his heart for survival sake, things opened up for him back in 2008 when he went to audition to study performing arts at the Moving Into Dance, by hard work not by lady luck he secured him-self a place in the Institution and later graduated with a certificate in the performing arts in 2009, from there onwards there was no looking back for the young who desperately wanted to make a name for himself the industry. His passion landed him top and strategic positions within the Northern Cape Arts Council as he is currently serving as the Contemporary dance teacher at the May-ibuye Dance Academy in Kimberly, also the provincial coordinator of ASSITEJ South Africa, also serves in the Advisory Board of the Department of Arts and Culture National Dance and Theatre. This is a man whom over the years has persevered and turned his back on the punches that life threw at him; I caught up with Lucky in get-ting a Glimpse of his dance world
